Baronies and Parishes of North Antrim
North
Antrim was divided into the baronies of:
Cary
which included part of the parish of Billy (around
Bushmills) and the parishes of Ballintoy, Grange of
Drumtullagh, Armoy, Ramoan and Culfeightrin down as
far as Cushendall. Note that the townlands of
Knocknahinch and Moyaver Lower & Upper, in the
parish of Armoy, were in the barony of Dunluce
Upper.
Dunluce Lower which included the remainder of
the parish of Billy plus the parishes of
Derrykeighan, Dunluce, part of Ballyrashane and part
of Ballywillan. Note that the remainder of the
parishes of Ballyrashane and Ballywillan lay in the
county of Londonderry.
Dunluce Upper which included the parishes of
Ballymoney, Kilraghts, and most of Loughguile, plus
the townlands of Ballynaloob and Drumadarragh in the
parish of Killagan and the townlands of
Knocknahinch and Moyaver Lower & Upper, in the
parish of Armoy,
Kilconway which included the parishes of Dunaghy,
Newtown Crommelin, Grange of Dundermot, Finvoy,
Rasharkin, Killagan (except the townlands in Dunluce
Upper), part of Loughguile,* the townland of
Garryduff in the parish of Ballymoney and the
townland of Craigs in the parish of Ahoghill.
To the
south of Kilconway were the baronies of Toome
Lower & Upper and Antrim Lower
& Upper in Mid-Antrim.

* This
included the townlands of Altnahinch, Ballynagabog,
Carnagall, Carnamenagh, Carnbuck, Drumrankin, Gruig,
Lislaban and Moneyneagh.
